Yesterday Steve Kennedy was 11th on the leaderboard with 21 pounds, 3 ounces. Today, he moved inside the Top 10 and is currently in 7th place with 17 pounds.
Kennedy made it no secret that he is doing what he does best, which is fish shallow.
“It’s what I like to do and I did it yesterday and will do it again today,” he said.
What he likes to do here is use a marabou hair jig and swimbait, the latter being his money lure. He’s making a long run and it’s not to the lake.
“I just couldn’t get it going there,” he said. “I think I can catch my needed weight every day to make the cut.”
Yesterday, the long run produced six bass, five of which went into the livewell.
