BassTrakk upgrades

We think of this Blog as the historical record of the tournament, it’s continuous flow of information documenting what happens throughout a competition day.

Until this season, BassTrakk was the unofficial scoreboard for tracking changes as they occurred on the water, until the official Leaderboard takes over at weigh-in.

Now, we have at the click of a mouse, even more real-time information to peruse as the day progresses. Across the horizontal navigation bar are three drop-down tabs: Standings, Phoenix Big Bass, Catch Times and AOY.

In Standings, you’ll find each angler has a drop-down menu that opens up to reveal his catch displayed by time and weight (as before), but below that are three video modules that you can view for even more information.

Click on Phoenix Big Bass, and you get the Phoenix Boats Big Bass Leader, and other anglers in descending order by weight of their biggest bass. You can click on the angler and see his overall catch data and videos, too.

With Catch Times, you can see the most recent times of an angler’s catch, from the top down. What I really like about this feature is how you can spot productive spikes in the catch rates, signaling a feeding period.

And lastly, what’s also very cool is the AOY tab. We no longer have to wait until the data loads to the website overnight, after the weigh-in. Changes are in real-time, which means this tab will get a lot of attention in the coming months, as the angler of the year race heats up.

Give it a test drive, like I did. For me, I’m enjoying staying in the driver seat of the new BassTrakk. And if you are a stats guru, you can spin the numbers to your heart’s content tabbing through all the data.
