For the second tournament in a row, 47-year-old Hank Cherry and 26-year-old Tyler Rivet continue to post amazingly similar numbers. Cherry finished 5th at Pickwick Lake with 73 pounds, 11 ounces. In this his third season on the Elite Series, Rivet made his first top 10 at Pickwick, finishing 6th with two ounces less than Cherry – 73-9. They’re practice partners and were fishing similar styles but different areas at Pickwick.
After Day 1 at the Sabine River, they were tied for 9th place with 10-9. Cherry caught his fifth keeper today about 11 o’clock. On BassTrakk, there they were again – right together – Rivet in 10th place with 6-6 on the day and 16-15 overall, and Cherry in 11th with 6-2 and 16-11 overall.
