Davis missed a fish on an isolated tree, slowed down and got another one to bite. He played it for what seemed like forever on light spinning tackle and hoisted a plump 16 incher into the boat.
“They’re definitely biting funny today,” he said. “I guess that is what I get after it has been easy the last few tournaments.”
He said his bite is “just getting right” and he has saved a few places that have big fish potential.
