Eyes glued to LIVE

It’s been hard to keep my eyes off the LIVE show this morning.

It seems every minute someone is catching a fish and while they aren’t game changers they are the solid fish that Guntersville is known for.

A big change this morning is the wind and partially overcast skies. It’s a fishing morning and the fish catches are proving it on one of the best lakes in the country.

This time yesterday the top of the leaderboard was stuck with anglers with 13- to 15-pounds. But we’ve already seen those weights climb in the 17-pound range this morning.

That’s scary in one form. Day 1 was basically phenomenal with 16 pounds and change occupying the cutline in 35th place. Day 2 seems to be kicking up several gears.

Today is the day when anglers are thinking about numbers. Hoping to get a mark that will solidify their chance to continue fishing another day. Conventional knowledge would say that will be around 33 pounds. But with the morning flurry and if it continues the way it’s going there will be a lot of hurt feelings this afternoon if anyone gets complacent.
