Feider’s DIY lure setup

BassTrakk shows Seth Feider inside the Top 10 cut, but there is more to his story than a potential all-weekend stay in Orange, as reported to me by photographer Shane Durrance.

The secret is Feider is building lures from his boat, as he goes through his day, by modifying the blades to fit his needs. Feider is using the Australian-made and Carl Jocumsen designed Bassman Spinnerbait. The key to the setup is that Feider is adding tandem gold and silver Oklahoma blades on the 3/8 bait, also featuring an orange perch skirt.

“It’s all about the small, compact profile of the bait,” Feider said.

Bassman is Australia’s leading manufacturer of custom spinnerbaits. In fact, the company brought a mobile DIY trailer to the tournament weigh-in sites, where an angler could go inside and customize a spinnerbait to his liking according to Jocumsen. Thanks to him, the baits are now available in the U.S.
