The late show

We are now seeing telltale signs of the afternoon bite shining as evidenced by the movers and shakers on the BASSTrakk leaderboard.

Coincidentally, all of them have big bass in the livewell. Here’s the latest lineup.

Harvey Horne: In third place with his first fish—a six-pounder—not scored until 1:28 p.m. His current weight is 23 pounds, 2 ounces.

Steve Kennedy: In fourth place with his first fish—a five pounder—scored at 10:46 a.m. However, his limit-filling flurry began at 2:09 p.m. when he scored a six-pounder. His current weight is 22-6.

Cory Johnston: In fifth place with his most productive timeframe beginning at 1:16 p.m. An hour later he filled his limit weighing 21-9.

Bill Lowen: In ninth place with his action heating up at 12:21 p.m. He filled his limit at 3:18 p.m.

What will be worth watching is how much better it gets after the usual weigh-in beginning time of 3 p.m.
