The official takeoff time was delayed 20 minutes, at least for the first flight. I’m not an expert on calculating running times in the fog, but there is a legit question about this delay.
Given the fog, will the party crowd headed south to the likes of Lake George and points beyond make it in time to lock through? They will not be running at full speed, so that is the implication.
The lock closes at 8 a.m. The next opportunity to lock through is at 11 a.m., which is a bust when it comes to having enough fishing time remaining to return through the lock to make it time for the weigh-in.
My guess would be the first flight would make it in time. The question is will the guys in the second flight make it? Their takeoff time was at 7:40 a.m. Like I mentioned, it might not matter but it’s worth noting.
