Mullins keeping an eye on Lake Fork

David Mullins drove home to Mt. Carmel, Tenn., yesterday after failing to make the top-40 cut by less than 1 1/2 pounds. Earlier today he was brushing up duck blinds. Now he’s tuning duck calls while keeping an eye on Lake Fork via Bassmaster LIVE. Mullins still has a chance to win the Bassmaster Angler of the Year title.

Clark Wendlandt remains in position to win it. As we approach 1 p.m., he’s in 26th place. If he fell to 32nd place in the final standings, Mullins would finish with one more AOY point that Wendlandt — 677 to 676 — for the season. Jake Whitaker has a chance today too, but he’s got to make a big jump from his 30th-place position now. Whitaker needs to finish 14 places higher than Wendlandt in order to pass him in AOY points.

Wendlandt has a 3 p.m. check-in time; Whitaker’s is 3:20 p.m.
