Patience pays

Wendlandt has been hardheaded about his starting spot. Although fishing has been slow, and he only had two keepers to show for three hours of fishing, he lost three other nice bass boat side. Those near-misses must have been the justification for his perseverance … and that perseverance just paid off. Flipping a hyacinth mat that he has no doubt hit five times already this morning, Wendlandt set the hook on a keeper. He swung it aboard and although we did not see the size of the fish, we heard his yell. The volume of the celebration would indicate that it was a better quality fish than the other two he has put on the scales. And that bite might just keep him in the back of this creek for a while longer.
