Rivet fishing for tomorrow

BassTrakk shows Tyler Rivet in 8th place with 19 pounds, 10 ounces, pushing his overall total to 37-12. How he got there came from one spot when a flurry of activity erupted.

“Where there was one, there were others,” he said. “I made one cast, caught the first and then it was non-stop from there.”

Rivet said he could’ve kept catching the bass, but decided to save the area for tomorrow. He left it to search for similar areas.

Rivet is fishing the lower end of the lake, where he found the bass “piled up” on a main lake point featuring a subtle pea-gravel point that gradually tapers into deep water. It’s an ideal current break and staging area for the prespawn bass.

“It’s very much a current-driven spot,” he added.
