Schmitt on the run

As per the plan, Bryan Schmitt packed it up and ran, after catching one keeper near the takeoff location in Plattsburgh. He’s being trailed by Andy Crawford, who just sent word that he headed through The Gut and into the Inland Sea. That’s where he spent the day yesterday, spot jumping all around the lake.

Yesterday, he expressed frustration from a lack of success with smallmouth, although the regret paid off with a mostly largemouth limit weighing 19 pounds, 4 ounces.

He did indeed run and gun, as I found out, too. After making several attempts to launch the drone, I gave up after Schmitt would make a few casts and move on to the next spot.

What else is going on, per Andy Crawford, is the wind is kicking up. You can’t ever judge wind speed by the predicted forecast on Lake Champlain. Andy said it’s more like 10 mph with higher gusts
