Slow morning on the river

So far the action on Day 1 of the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series National Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops has been slower than expected. With that said, when you’re talking about a playing field that’s roughly 90 miles long, being in the right region of the river is huge.

The majority of the anglers that we have covered between Waddington and Ogdensburg have struggled to get bites early but that doesn’t mean that they’re not biting further down the river.

With a strong wind predicted today, Weston Hollar and Wesley Gore of Alabama decided to stay relatively close to takeoff rather than making a run to areas that they fished in practice. Gore and Hollar have three keepers in the livewell.
