Sullivan will need to cull up today

Randy Sullivan, like many of the anglers in today’s Top 40, is fishing deep in the trees here on Lake Marion. Sullivan has two small keepers in the boat and he knows he’ll have to cull them at today’s end if he wants to earn a spot in Championship Sunday. The Elite Series Pro from Texas is fishing a vibrating jig around the cypress trees and he’s got a soft plastic tied up that he’s flipping around the base of the trees as well.

The majority of his bites have come late morning this week but he admits that having a couple in the boat have eased his worries.

“I know there’s a lot of guys fishing this area today. I can’t see them but ever once in a while, you’ll hear a big motor fire up and you know somebody’s close,” says Sullivan.
