Patrick Walters continues to roam about the cove where he’s been since arriving directly from the launch site.
He’s got 2 bass in the boat for about 4 pounds, and there are more than a dozen boats in the area, with a random catch coming aboard here and there.
“It’s going to be better later in the day,” he said to photographer Andy Crawford. Coincidentally, Walters had most of his 24 pounds in the livewell by 9 a.m. on Thursday.
Andy said the water needs more definition, more clarity, and Walters believes that might come later on, as the wind-driven current creates more ideal fishing conditions.
