Walters second man over 100 today

When Lee Livesay topped the century mark earlier this morning, he knew it wasn’t going to be enough at Lake Fork. Patrick Walters has demonstrated why. Walters topped 100 pounds – 100-10, to be exact – with a 5-4 that engulfed a big topwater lure. He’s got 29-8 today and trails Livesay by only 3 pounds now.

“I’ve never seen fish that bite where the Spook disappears,” said Walters, who topped 100 pounds the last time the Elite Series was here last November. Walters won that tournament by almost 30 pounds. This one is going to be a battle to the last minute today. In the previous three days of this tournament, the afternoon bite, from about 12:30 until 3:00, has actually produced more big bass than the morning flurry.
