Pirch has definitely passed KVD, finding several good keepers while Kevin VanDam is still searching for his third fish. The two anglers continue to fish around each other, in a lazy dance south in the main channel of Kentucky Lake. I count 16 spectator boats fanned out in a half circle, all keeping a respectful distance from the two anglers.
By this time yesterday, KVD was finishing up an epic beginning to Day 1. Today he will find himself in a very different position at 8 a.m.
