Gear Review: Daiwa Tackle Barn Tackle Bag

WHAT IS IT?

Daiwa Tackle Barn Tackle Bag

WHAT SETS IT APART?

Daiwa chose an appropriate name for its innovative tackle bag, as it mimics an actual barn in terms of its spacious design and ability to accommodate a lot of items. Starting with access, the Tackle Barn opens via double gull-wing doors, which immediately differentiate this container from traditional square or rectangular shapes. Secured with convenient hook-and-loop attachments, those doors open laterally for quick access to interior tackleboxes and other items.

HOW DO I USE IT?

Constructed with a waterproof base, the Tackle Barn comes with four Daiwa 370 utility boxes and four 360 utility boxes and holds another four 370 or 360 size boxes. Designed for systematic organization, this bag includes a built-in, retractable leader spool wheel, durable sunglasses holder, beverage holder and water-resistant tool and cellphone pouches. Storage pouches include nylon zippers for rustproof operation. Ideal for the traveling fisherman or a tournament co-angler, the Tackle Barn fits under most bass boat consoles.

ANGLER’S INSIGHT:

Daiwa put an impressive amount of thought into the Tackle Barn’s design, as evidenced by key details like the retractable storm cover, which engulfs the entire bag and protects its contents during shows or wet rides. Other nice touches include the built-in topside handle and removable adjustable shoulder strap. The latter is designed with a soft rubber grip pad that helps keep the bag from slipping while transporting to and from the water.
