North Carolina Nation supports Boys & Girls Clubs

Michael Chlomoudis and Marty Warren won the North Carolina B.A.S.S. Nation’s annual benefit bass tournament for the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central North Carolina (BGCNCNC) April 15 at Kerr Lake. Presenting the winners their first-place check were Tanya Evans, BGCNCNC chief volunteer officer, and Floyd Johnson, BGCNCNC chief executive officer.

Henderson, N.C. — The North Carolina B.A.S.S. Nation continued to show its support for youth programs by hosting its annual benefit bass tournament April 15 at Kerr Lake.

The event drew 66 teams and raised $14,290 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central North Carolina (BGCNCNC). The annual fishing tournament is the primary fundraiser for the BGCNCNC with the money raised from the event supporting club programs. The North Carolina Nation has held the tournament since its inception nine years ago.

Winning the tournament and the top prize of $3,000 with a weight of 19 pounds was Michael Cloumoudis and Marty Warren. Mike May and Dale Winstead finished in second place with 18.13 pounds and collected $2,000. The Big Fish prize of $500 went to Robert Taylor and Anthony Taylor, who brought a 4.92-pound bass to the scales.

North Carolina Nation members helping run the tournament were Randy Groves, Scott Griffin, Jay Wright, Marvin Edwards, Mark Robertson, Keith Joyce and North Carolina Nation President Chuck Murray. Members of the BGCNCNC corporate and advisory boards also assisted throughout the tournament.
