Customers rank Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s among the best for customer experience

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Customers rank Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s among the very best in America for in-store customer experience according a new national customer survey.

As part of the 2018 Retail Reputation Report, Reputation.com artificial intelligence, machine learning and sentiment analysis to text from 4.7 million online consumer reviews posted on Google and Facebook. The reviews detailed in-store shopping experiences at nearly 30,000 locations owned by 88 retail chains.

Bass Pro Shops ranked among the highest in overall customer experience alongside The Disney Store and Costco, outranking other respected retail brands including Neiman Marcus, IKEA, L.L. Bean, Ace Hardware, and many others. Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s also lead the sporting goods category outright.

“We strive to offer our customers genuinely friendly service, quality products and exceptional value every day in a shopping environment unlike any other,” said destination retail pioneer and Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris. “We are honored to receive this distinction from our customers, which is a reflection of our remarkable team members and their efforts every day.”

Bass Pro Shops locations are more than just stores — they are true destination experiences that draw more than 200 million visitors annually. Each location is heavily customized to reflect the character of the region. In addition to giant aquariums teeming with live fish and extensive wildlife mounts and dioramas, many locations feature specialty restaurants and ocean-themed bowling alleys. Boat centers and a wide selection of hunting, fishing, camping, apparel, gifts and more.

Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s has consistently received significant recognition as a leading retailer. Earlier this year The National Retail Federation named Bass Pro Shops as the number two “hottest retailer in America.” In 2017, Forbes named Bass Pro Shops as one of “America’s Most Reputable Companies” in recognition of the public’s trust in the organization.

Bass Pro Shops was founded in 1972 when Morris, an avid young angler, began selling tackle on eight square feet of shelf space in his father’s liquor store in Springfield, Missouri. Today, Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s welcome more than 200 million visitors annually to its 200 retail and marine center locations across North America and is a national leader in protecting wildlife habitat and connecting new audiences to the outdoors.
