A great percentage of Bassmaster anglers hunt during the offseason. For some, it’s their lifelong obsession, while others simply enjoy the experience of getting away to camp and having a shot at a deer. David Walker was thrilled to find a live target in Kansas. ‘What a great way to end the best deer hunt I've ever been on. Saw an unbelievable number of deer and got to take my largest deer yet! Big thank you to my buddy big Dave Smith for the chance to enjoy such a great place as this!’

J Todd Tucker of Moultrie, Ga., had a good deer season, starting off with a nice 8-pointer.

Now Tucker tries to get his wife, Emily, on a trophy. He wrote, ‘Been hunting with my wife this week. I shot a good one last week so now it's her turn to drop one with her bow.’

Stephen Browning takes an annual trip to southwest Kansas to meet up with friends, writing, ‘The offseason offers the opportunity to recharge a bit and get away from fishing, which really helps you refocus when you come back from being out in the woods. This trip is always something I look forward to. For these 12 days, it’s all about the hunting and enjoying the camaraderie with some of my best friends in the world.’

On Nov. 1, Bill Lowen tagged out in his home state of Ohio. ‘Mad hyper growl and swhacker did the job!!’

Jeremy Starks’ buck didn’t have the largest of antlers, but his deer sure is a big-bodied beast.

The younger Elites are keeping pace as well. Bradley Roy of Lancaster, Ky., went out on Sept. 21 for this bruiser. ‘I'm glad I decided to go hunting last night even though it was hot. This big boy stepped out about 7:35 and the rest is history! Gotta love big KY bucks!!! 11 points that scored 150.’

Earlier in the season, Lester killed this buck. ‘Finally dropped the hammer on a decent Tennessee buck this morning! After a tough bow season it felt good to pick up the muzzleloader!!!’

BassFest winner Jacob Wheeler gave a shout-out to friend Matt Arey for setting him up for his first bow kill. ‘What an awesome day!! I don't think I could ask for much more!! Just the pure emotion/adrenaline I had after the shot was crazy!! I was still shaking 2 hours after the shot! Lol. It's definitely a trip that I will never forget.’

Of course, they’ve switched spots and he was proud of her when she took a big Illinois buck this year with a bow. ‘She hunted her butt off and it paid off. She has taken time to learn bow hunting from start to finish from planting fields to the kill.’
