The 2020 season kicks off

The 2020 Carhartt Bassmaster College Tour presented by Bass Pro Shops kicks off the season at Toledo Bend in Many, La.

The full-field is capped at 250 boats with plenty of teams standing by on the waitlist in hopes of tacking Toledo Bend this week. In 2018 it took 41-6 to take the title over just two days of competition. The third day was cancelled after thick fog hung over the entire lake for more than half the day. That event also featured a 2-hour delay on Day 1 due to fog. The shortened event feature three fish over 8 pounds, including a 10-pounder which helped Wisconsin-Platteville take the victory.

Connor Choate and Hunter DeSplinter are here this week hoping to defend their title. Cody Huff, the 2019 College Bracket Classic Champion from Bethel University is also in attendance. He is partnered with Dakota Pierce in what should be a busy year for Huff  He just finished the Bassmaster Eastern Open in Florida and has his sights set on the Academy Sports and Outdoors Bassmaster Classic presented by Huk.

Along with some of the headlining names, there are also 81 colleges and universities represented in the field.
