Menendez off to solid start

More than one angler has mentioned it this morning. After a stormy, rainy practice and a one day postponement, a 5-bass limit weighing 10 pounds was the goal today. There were too many unknowns to set your expectations higher. Mark Menendez is on his way to reaching that goal. He’s got 4 weighing 8-4 at 10:30 a.m. It has him in 15th place.

The 56-year-old Paducah, Ken., resident is having a solid season. He came into this event ranked 28th in the Angler of the Year standings. This marks Menendez’s 250th B.A.S.S. tournament, and he has won over $1.2 million.
