Wendlandt goes 1 for 2

Moving from the hyacinth edges to the wood cover in the middle of the creek, Wendlandt hooked up on a solid keeper. It came unbuttoned after a short series of jumps. Three casts later, he hooked up again. This time, the fish made it over the gunnel. We could almost hear his sigh of relief fifty yards distant. “This one weighs 2-10! I’ve had a couple come off this morning,” he said. Wendlandt is rotating between a spinnerbait and square bill. It will be interesting to see how long he hangs with this spot. He said he has another area where he knows he can catch a limit, but they are of a smaller caliber.
