It was 43 degrees when the 12 Bassmaster Elite Series pros took off from Venetian Cove Sunday for the final day of the Sunshine Showdown.
Here's a quick rundown of the Sunshine Showdown's leaders, and their setups.
Both Marty Stone and Alton Jones had a bass jump into their boat for the first time in their tournament lives — and add Jimmy Mize to that list, although he's had it happen before.
He grabbed the trophy from Weldon, shifted it back and forth in his hands a couple times, and then did what came naturally: one arm back in a flex and the other straight out into the air holding the trophy — Hulk Hogan style.
Weights were way down Saturday, and angler after angler came across the stage talking about how their spots on the Harris Chain of Lakes had became worthless.
If this were any place else but Florida, Brian Snowden could already be counting his money from winning the Bassmaster Elite Series Sunshine Showdown.
Before they turned pro Davis, of Arkansas, and Snowden, of Missouri, were professional bass guides for hire.
"You're going to see a couple of guys today that are not very high in the top 50 jump up and make the top 12. And you'll have a couple of guys who are way up there who will fall today."
"This is one of those lakes where it's real easy to go from a hero to a zero."
If you're in Central Florida and you can't afford the rollercoasters in Orlando, enter a tournament on the Harris Chain of Lakes.
